AWR has visited Ukraine and met with the conference and union leaders. We have seen the lines of people at a local park where they each received a bag of canned goods. We have heard the stories of the hardships refugees have experienced and are continuing to encounter as they’ve fled from Eastern Ukraine and moved to Western Ukraine, in addition to the many who have moved out of the country. We have seen where the refugees have taken shelter and have felt the love local leaders there have shared with their fellow countrymen.

The refugees living in Ukraine are still in great need and the leaders are so appreciative that AWR360° Health volunteers are willing to come and be part of the blessing the refugees need at this time in their lives.

We are inviting all medical professionals and non-medical volunteers to join us September 17-25, 2023, in Chernivtsi, Ukraine where we’ll hold a 4-day medical clinic.

We need non-medical volunteers to help in various areas, such as:

• Sharing a smile and a hug with people while they are waiting in line to register
• Blessing others with the gift of music
• Working as a handyman/woman, assisting with setup and teardown
• Giving health talks
• Telling children’s stories
• Cooking with the local kitchen workers

. . . plus a number of other tasks required to run a successful medical clinic.

Travel Schedule to Chernivtsi, Ukraine

We will have 2 arrival options. The Group #1 will help with set up.  Group #2 will get there in time to help with the medical clinic.

Group 1:  For USA volunteers please arrive in London on Sept. 14, 2023.  Make your way using Uber/Lift/or local transportation from Heathrow to theCourtyard by Marriott Luton Airport where you will spend the night. Please make your own reservation for lodging at this link www.marriott.com/ltncy .The AWR leadership team will also stay at this same hotel. Together on Sept. 15 we will catch the Wizz Air flight at 8:35 a.m. from Luton Airport toarrive at 1:45 p.m. in Suceava, Romania.  Each volunteer will make their own flight reservation. Volunteers joining us from anywhere other thanthe USA, please make sure to arrive in Suceava before 3 p.m.  AWR will arrange for a bus to pick us up at the airport and drive us across theRomania/Ukraine border and take us to our hotel in Chernivtsi. We will worship together at a local SDA church on Sabbath.  On Sunday, Sept. 17 andMonday, Sept. 18 we will work with the local team to help set up for the medical clinic.

Group 2:  For USA volunteers, please arrive in London on Sunday, Sept. 17, 2023. Make your way using Uber/Lift/or local transportation fromHeathrow to the Courtyard by Marriott Luton Airport where you will spend the night. On Monday, Sept. 18, 2023 catch the 8:35 a.m. Wizz Air flight at Luton Airport to arrive in Suceava, Romania at 1:45 p.m. Each volunteer will make their own flight reservation. Volunteers joining us from anywhere other than the USA, please make sure to arrive inSuceava before 3 p.m.  Our AWR European director, Vasily Makarchuk will be there with a bus to pick you all up together at the airport and drive youacross the Romania/Ukraine border and take you to our hotel in Chernivtsi.

Tuesday, September 19 - Friday, September 22 - Medical clinic from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Sabbath, September 23 - Sabbath Celebration at a local Seventh day Adventist church.

Sunday, September 24 - 1 day excursion visiting a local fortress, castle and a boat cruise..

Monday, September 25 - return to Suceava to catch the 7:35 p.m. Wizz Air flight to arrive in London at 8:55 p.m. We will make our way byUber/Lift/or local transportation to Hilton London Heathrow Airport. Make your reservations at www.hilton.com

Tuesday, September 26 you may join the group for a tour of London or catch a flight home.

Wednesday, September 27 leave for home.

Visa Requirements

If you have a passport from outside the United States, you may be required to get a Visa to enter Romania and Ukraine.  We can help you get a letterof invitation which you will need when applying for the visa.  Please email Suzanna Facundo at facundos@gc.adventist.org .

A Waiver will be required to be signed by each participant. You will be sent an email where you can put your eSignature on the waiver. That email will come from Sue Hinkle.
