Adventist Young Professionals Mission Trip
Build and Restore International (BRI) in partnership with Adventist Young Professionals (AYP) invites you to join us in southern California for the first AYP mission trip! During our 5 days together, we’ll restore the Los Angeles County based Temple City SDA Church – beautifying the interiors and exteriors of the diverse and intergenerational church. We will also support the Sabbath worship service and participate in outreach efforts to the local community.
Beyond making a missional impact in Los Angeles, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the sights of SoCal alongside new friends from across North America! We’ll take you to the ocean and explore some of LA’s top sites!
As always, mission trips require a desire to glorify God, teamwork, hard work, and safety. We ask that these values be considered as you make a decision to join us.

Participation Fee
WHEN: August 31 - September 4, 2023
WHERE: Temple City, California
COST: Registration is $200 (discounted 25% to $150 for ticket holders to the 2023 AYP Convention. Please email Xiomara Perdomo at xiomara.perdomo@ayp.me to receive the discount link.)
Your registration fee covers all activities, transportation during the event, an event shirt, 4 nights of lodging (at the church), and 13 meals
What’s NOT Included:
Flights
Any personal expenses, snacks or souvenirs
Hotel, food, and transportation before or after the mission trip
SCOPE:
1. Restore the church facilities by helping to paint the fellowship hall fascia boards and stained glass window frame.
2. Update with fresh paint the sanctuary fascia and overhang.
3. Volunteers will learn practical skills as they handle various responsibilities in the restoration of the church facilities.
TRAVEL:
Arrival: Please plan to arrive August 31st.
Departure: Please plan to depart on September 4th in the afternoon.

LODGING:
We will be staying at the church. No linens are provided. Please bring your own linens and sleeping bag, air mattress, or sleeping pad.
WEATHER: The weather will be in the high 80's in the day and mid 60's at night.
Mission Trip Packing List
Items to Bring
• Bible (Paper Copy) and other devotional/reading materials
• Lightweight back pack
• Personal snacks – e.g., energy/granola bars, nuts, or dried fruit
• Ear Plugs (in case the person next to you snores), sleep mask
• Flip-flops
• Flashlight
• Spending money for personal use
• Personal toiletries (soap, toothpaste, deodorant, mirror, razor, etc.)
Work Clothes and Gear
• Work pants (lightweight cotton preferred, cargo)
• Good working shoes (work boots or hard-soled shoes are safest)
• Socks – (1 pair for each day)
• T-shirts; short or long-sleeved cotton shirts
• Water bottle(s) (Wide mouth, refillable)
• Work gloves (2 pair recommended)
Off-site Clothes
• Casual shirts, pants, and blouses
• Dress shirts, slacks, and shoes (men) for church*
• Dresses, skirts/blouses, and shoes (women) for church*
• Swimming suits (modest, one piece), beach towel
• Socks, Underclothes (microfiber quick dry—optional)
• Hat (to protect from sun)
• Sunglasses
Linens
